How we work

This page introduces you to Management Toolbox's philosophy, personalised support and facilitation.

Philosophy

It all starts with a goal. An organisation must clearly articulate where they really want to be and what they believe needs to be achieved in order to get there.  We will either work with you to create it, or strive to understand your vision, purpose and objectives and create a clear linkage between the piece of work being completed and the organisational strategy. We bring with us a common methodology to every project but execute each with an individual flair that allows us to become immersed in the environment of the client.  Through understanding the client, the environment and their specific needs then adapting our tools to meet those needs, we ensure the right approach is taken to deliver optimum results.

We believe that organisations need to be effectively aligned in order to achieve their strategic goals.  This means that when you have a plan or piece of work that needs to be implemented, the operational model of the organisation (people, processes, technology and information) must be arranged in a way that sets you up for success.  Our strategic plans inherently ensure that any operational concerns with implementing the plan are highlighted so they can be specifically addressed and any other piece of work will address this aspect during the project. We want to ensure that we provide our clients with implementable outcomes and believable results.

We aim to keep the people in mind with every piece of work we undertake. We know that the people that know your organisation best are those that work within it. We do not simply want to come in and tell you what to do; we will work with you to show you how to do it.

The other factor that defines the way we approach our work is our strong belief in the Peter Drucker comment that ‘Culture eats strategy for breakfast’ and we therefore approach all projects with the company culture in mind. While having a solid strategy and purpose is beneficial to an organisation, it’s nothing if the culture is not open to living it. If we believe that an initiative you want to complete doesn’t fit with the company culture, we will challenge you on it. And if we can see that your culture is inhibiting your progress, we will help you find a way of addressing it. Our own culture is a supportive one; we genuinely want both our people and our clients to succeed and will do our best to ensure this happens.

Personalised Support

At Management Toolbox we understand that different clients require different levels of support for different pieces of work. While some organisations need advice on the best way of doing things, others simply need an extra pair of hands to get something done with a velocity not always achievable amidst business-as-usual. From our team we can provide support matched to your needs ranging from the highest level of industry or subject matter experience right through to a skilled and focussed individual to carry out your specialised activity (i.e. from Architects to hammer hands and every level in between).

Facilitation

In line with our core values of clarity and collaboration, we regularly utilise trained facilitators to ensure we get the most value both for and out of our clients. We believe that the people that know a business best are those that work within it, the ones that deal with the day-to-day. While an outside perspective is always useful, we want to understand the business and the issues it faces from as many people within the company as possible. The value in getting everyone involved is two-fold; it engages employees in the process and adds an enormous amount of integrity to the output.
